Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: What level of player do you work with?

Our services are designed for players across the skill spectrum who are serious about their hockey journey. We've coached players at various levels throughout our careers and understand that "success" looks different for each athlete. Whether you're targeting top Division I programs or exploring DIII and club options, our experience helps maximize opportunities at the right level for your unique combination of skills, academics, and goals. What matters most is your commitment to growth and finding the right fit.

Question 2: Why should we hire you?

The college hockey landscape has become increasingly complex, with families facing more options and higher stakes than ever before. What sets us apart is simple: 36 years of college coaching experience on both sides of the recruitment desk. We've evaluated thousands of players, made countless recruiting decisions, and developed athletes at multiple collegiate levels. This perspective allows us to offer insights that most advisors simply cannot provide. We won't promise placement at specific programs – instead, we deliver honest assessment, strategic guidance, and the tools to navigate this journey effectively.

Question 3: What guarantee can you provide?

We guarantee our expertise, our commitment, and our time. We promise consistent, responsive communication and a structured development process tailored to each player. What we won't do is guarantee specific athletic outcomes or college placements. We believe anyone who does is being dishonest. College hockey opportunities result from the intersection of player development, academic achievement, and finding the right program fit. We guarantee a process that maximizes your potential within these realities, backed by decades of experience from the coaching perspective.

Question 4: How many families do you take on?

Quality guidance requires meaningful attention. Throughout our coaching careers, we've managed rosters of 25-30 players, developing deep relationships while providing individualized development plans for each athlete. We've structured our consulting practice with the same approach – limiting our client base to 30 families per consultant. This allows us to maintain the same level of personalized attention we provided as coaches, while ensuring responsive communication and thoughtful guidance for each family we serve. Our model is built on depth of relationship, not volume of clients.

Question 5: How much do you cost?

Our service model reflects the depth of guidance, personalized attention, and exclusive coaching insight we provide. Our comprehensive program represents a premium offering in this space, reflecting the unmatched experience and limited client model we maintain. Rather than publishing a one-size-fits-all price, we prefer to discuss your specific situation in a complimentary strategy call. This allows us to ensure our services align with your needs and explain the value proposition in the context of your player's specific goals. We believe in transparency and will gladly discuss our fee structure during this initial conversation.

Question 6: How does your service differ from advisors?

Advisors focus primarily on placement and recruitment. Our approach begins with development and understanding. This is done through communication, meetings and ultimately giving you our time. With 68 years of college coaching experience, we provide insights from the other side of the desk like how coaches actually evaluate and select players. We focus on finding the right fit academically, athletically, and personally rather than just chasing the highest level possible.

Question 7:How involved are parents in the process?

Parents are essential partners in this journey. We schedule monthly meetings specifically for parents to ensure alignment between player goals and family expectations. We also help parents understand their appropriate role in the process - when to step forward and when to step back. Our goal is to create a supportive family environment around the player's development.

Question 8: What if my player doesn't know what level they want to pursue?

That's perfectly normal and actually where our guidance is most valuable. Many families rush to identify a target level without understanding the full spectrum of opportunities. We help players explore all options - from Division I to Division III to ACHA programs - based on their unique combination of academic interests, hockey abilities, and personal preferences.

Question 9: Do you work with female hockey players?

Absolutely! We are more than happy to help female athletes navigate their hockey journey. With specific experience in women's Division I coaching, we understand the unique aspects of women's hockey recruitment, development pathways, and program opportunities. The women's game continues to grow exponentially, creating both opportunities and challenges that differ from men's hockey. We provide gender-specific guidance that addresses the nuances of women's hockey development, the different collegiate landscape, and the unique timelines that often apply to female athletes. Our commitment to finding the right fit applies equally to all players, regardless of gender.

Question 10: Can you tell us more about your network connections?

Throughout our 36 years of coaching, we've developed extensive relationships across the hockey world. Our network includes connections with:

-NCAA Division I and III coaching staffs across all conferences

-ACHA Coaches at various levels

-Junior hockey programs in the USHL, NAHL, and Tier III leagues

-Prep school coaches and administrators

-NHL and professional scouting personnel

-Hockey-specific training and development specialists

-Former players now working throughout hockey

However, we approach these connections differently. Rather than simply "making calls" on a player's behalf, we leverage these relationships to help families understand program expectations, identify appropriate targets, and prepare for effective communication. Our network provides valuable insight and context, but we believe lasting opportunities come from players building their own authentic relationships rather than relying solely on third-party introductions.
