Who are we?

After dedicating their careers to coaching hockey at the highest levels, Ben Murphy and Cam Ellsworth made the decision to step away from the bench to focus on a new venture – guiding families through their hockey journey.
With 36 years of combined coaching experience across NCAA Division I Men, Division I Women, Division III Men,  and USHL programs, Ben and Cam bring authentic insight from having evaluated thousands of players and built successful programs at multiple levels.
Their transition from college coaches to family mentors reflects a simple belief: there’s a better way to navigate the hockey experience. Rather than focusing solely on destinations, they prioritize development, ensuring families not only reach their goals but actually enjoy the journey along the way.
At Coach Perspective Consultants, Ben and Cam apply their decades of coaching experience to provide honest assessment, strategic guidance, and genuine mentorship to a select group of families who share their values of development-first hockey.
